Carol Sturgulewski is a lifelong Alaskan who has lived in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Sitka, Wrangell, Ketchikan, Juneau, Kodiak, Seward and Unalaska. She received a BA in journalism in 1977 from the University of Oregon, and spent more than 30 years writing for newspapers, magazines and guidebooks in Alaska--everything from the Anchorage Times and Alaska magazine, to the Dutch Harbor Fisherman and the AP. Special interests include Alaska history, culture and travel, and raising teenage boys.
