Bio: W. S. Merk has been living and writing in Juneau, Alaska since 1991; he lives with his wife, bead artist Beth Handley. His first book of poems, Bright Silence, was published in March, 2011. William's poems have previously appeared in various publications, including Explorations (1992), Dragonfly, L'Attitude, Tidal Echoes (2010 and 2011) and The Sleep of Grass: A Tribute In Poetry To William Stafford (2006).
