Bio:
Sara Loewen has an MFA in creative writing from the University of Alaska, Anchorage. She and her family commercial fish for salmon each summer in Uyak Bay, on the west side of Kodiak Island. Winters, she teaches at Kodiak College. Her essay collection, Gaining Daylight: Life on Two Islands will be released by the University of Alaska Press in February 2013. Her writing has appeared as a column for the Anchorage Daily News and in a variety of literary journals.
