Pam Flowers was born in Michigan's Upper Peninsula in 1946. After graduating college in Houston, TX, worked as a Respiratory Therapist for seventeen years. Pam moved to Alaska in 1981, became a dog musher, completed the Iditarod, traveled in the high Arctic, traversed Arctic-America by dog team, reached the Magnetic North Pole three times. For several years she wrote magazine articles about her adventures and then switched to writing books and touring America as a public speaker.
