Favorite Places in Alaska: In the air. The experience of flying over the tundra, low enough to see a standing bear trying to triangulate the sound of the aircraft, was sealed in my memory.

Bio: Tricia has written nearly thirty books for children and adults, most on Alaska subjects. Her writing career began in journalism, editing and writing features for the News-Miner and the Anchorage Daily News. Later, she served as managing editor, then editor, of Alaska magazine. She entered book publishing in the late 1990s. She is a former acquisitions editor for Alaska Northwest Books and WestWinds Press, and as a freelance editor, she has edited dozens of Alaska books for a variety of publishers. Tricia has a deep interest in Alaska's natural history and Native cultures, and her books reflect her love of the Far North. She continues to write children's stories and about travel, history, and animals of Alaska. She travels often to speak at conferences and to visit classrooms all over the country.
