Favorite Places in Alaska:
So many: the woods near our house, our yard, a camping site above the Glenn Highway where we woke once to a sea of fog suddenly spread out below us.
I've written since childhood in St. Louis. My husband and I came to Alaska in 1966, planning a brief stay, and we're still here. I love being part of Alaska's literary adventure. Awards to my work include a PEN Syndicated Fiction Selection, a fellowship from ASCA, a one-month residency at the Island Institute in Sitka, and a few fiction awards. I write mostly short stories, with recent work appearing in CIRQUE, CONNOTATIONS, NORTHERN REVIEW, CHARITON REVIEW, and KALLIOPE. My first two short plays had staged readings in 2008 and 2009 in Fairbanks as part of the annual statewide 8x10 competition.
